Unlike the prefinal, Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) dominated the KZ2 final at Sharm El Sheik. Starting eighth, he quietly overcame his opponents one by one, though he was assisted in his quest by very fresh tyres. Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex) took the lead initially from his teammate Marco Ardigo and Gary Carlton followed them closely. But the American would be the first to give up the position. Ardigo took the lead of the race while Thonon took Dreezen. Next he passed Ardigo on the next lap. Thonon then dug a gap big enough to win the race without worry, and ahead of Ardigo and Dreezen. Mirko Torsellini (CRG / Maxter) was 4th in front of Gianni Gazzurelli (FA Kart / Vortex) who was quite on the ball early in the race before his tyres went off.
Jonathan Thonon won both the race and the title ahead of Rick Dreezen and Gary Carlton.
